Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about Cellfina™

As a nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedure with proven results, Cellfina™ is quickly becoming one of the most popular solutions for treating cellulite. If you are interested in this revolutionary treatment but would like to learn a bit more prior to scheduling a consultation, McCormack Plastic Surgery has provided answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Cellfina™. Take a look at our responses provided below.

What Is Cellfina™?
Cellfina™ is a revolutionary treatment designed to nonsurgically release connective bands responsible for cellulite, ultimately helping to smooth the surface of the skin for an improved appearance. To learn more about the procedure itself, check out our blog post here.

Which parts of the body can be treated?
Cellfina™ can be used to target cellulite on the thighs and buttocks, two of the most common areas on which cellulite forms.

Who performs the Cellfina™ treatment?
At our practice, our board certified plastic surgeon – Dr. Tiffany McCormack – performs the Cellfina™ procedure right here in the convenience and safety of our office.

How long does the procedure take?
Depending on the amount of cellulite present and number of areas being targeted, the Cellfina™ procedure generally takes an average of 45 minutes to complete.

Is it painful?
Dr. McCormack makes every effort to maximize patient comfort throughout the entirety of treatment, and most patients report experiencing little to no pain at all. That said, a topical anesthetic can often be administered if needed and/or desired.

Is there any recovery or downtime?
Recovery or downtime after treatment with Cellfina™ is rare, but some temporary soreness and/or bruising may occur. These symptoms should dissipate relatively quickly, however, and most individuals are able to resume work and normal, non-strenuous daily activities immediately.

How soon will results appear, and how long do they last?
A noticeable decrease in cellulite is typically apparent after approximately three days, and the final outcomes tend to last about a year, if not longer. This is currently the longest length of time for which the results of any cellulite treatment has received FDA-clearance.
