Dr. Tiffany McCormack Sheds Light on Increased Demand for Liposuction After the Pandemic with NewBeauty®
As a regular plastic surgery consultant for NewBeauty® magazine, Dr. Tiffany McCormack recently discussed the rising demand for post-pandemic liposuction with the well-known publication. This procedure has long been considered the “gold standard” for fat removal, but recent numbers have further indicated that liposuction is the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery among both men and women, as well as individuals aged 36 to 70. Our board-certified plastic surgeon recently explained how the uptick in patients seeking liposuction has affected her surgical facility and med spa in Reno.
Liposuction alone can yield a beautiful result for many patients wanting to shape pockets of stubborn fat; however, a comprehensive approach can often be more beneficial for individuals also exhibiting loose skin, stretched abdominal muscles, or other concerns negatively affecting their body contour. “I commonly perform liposuction in conjunction with other procedures — such as a tummy tuck — by incorporating lipo on the back and flanks (sort of a 360 degree approach). I also commonly lipo the submental area, arms, and thighs,” Dr. McCormack explains. Non-surgical technologies can be a useful complement to liposuction as well, with Dr. McCormack mentioning she also utilizes skin tightening technologies like Renuvion® with liposuction to simultaneously treat sagging skin and isolated fat.
At the end of the day, each person’s treatment plan should be created specifically for their unique needs, and a plastic surgery consultation can help reveal the best combination of body sculpting options to attain your desired results.
